Problem with 3rd party Component libraries no longer in new Blazor template

Hi there

I have now tried 3 different component libraries for Blazor in .NET 8. I don't know why this is happening, but all the functionality of the libraries has been nullified. The components render perfectly, but - as I am trying to do - using a filter function on a data grid simply doesn't work. I have set the render mode to InteractiveServer, but this made no difference.

What am I missing. Third party controls used to work out of the box. I did read that you had made Blazor projects static, but this makes no sense. Most of the controls are interactive.

Thank you for the feedback. This is by design with the new Blazor programming model.

Blazor Web now supports static server rendering by default. This means that, out of the box, components are rendered as static HTML unless you explicitly configure them for interactive behavior. This change is intentional to improve performance, SEO, and scalability for many apps, but it does mean that interactive component libraries (including third-party grids, dialogs, etc.) will no longer be interactive unless you opt into interactivity.

If you want the previous Blazor Server or WebAssembly experience—where all components are interactive—you should configure your app for global interactivity and specify your preferred render mode (such as InteractiveServer or InteractiveWebAssembly). This will restore the expected client-side interactivity for third-party controls.
